The Indian Mutiny of 1857 was the first open rebellion of Britain's unhappy subject state. The East India Company's sepoys revolted over being forced to bite paper cartridges that were greased with animal fat, which violated religious of tenets of theirs. The Mutiny was ultimately unsuccessful, but was one of the first outcries for India to be united as a whole, instead of being organized as separate principalities. These hand-painted metal toy soldiers are finished with glossy enamel, in the traditional style. Choose an item below for more information.
