First Legion
King Francis I of France was accompanied by the French royal standard, the Fleur-de-lis on a blue field, when he rode into battle against the German Landsknechts in the employ of the Holy Roman Empire at Pavia. The protection offered by the "Flower of the Lily" was slim indeed, though it did serve to keep King Francis alive. In a letter after the battle, he is famously paraphrased as having written "All is lost save honour."
To bear the royal standard was a great responsiblity and this knight means to uphold it. First Legion crafted this mounted figure to have a moving visor, a necessity for heavily armored knights on the battlefield.
