While pikes were the preferred weapon of the Landsknecht, other polearms were seen as well. The halberd has an axe blade for dealing with unarmored foes or hacing through pikes, a wicked spike for pulling down mounted opponents or shields, and wicked point for punching through ring mail and finding the gaps in plate.
