W. Britain, Matte Finish #41116 Horatio, Viscount Nelson in Full Dress
Admiral Lord Nelson in Full Dress uniform and wearing his principle
medals and honours. On his cocked hat he wears the magnificent diamond
Chelengk given to him after the Battle of the Nile in 1798.
On
21st October 1805 a British Fleet under the command of Admiral Lord
Horatio Nelson not only destroyed the combined fleets of France and
Spain, but with it Napoleon's dreams of invading Britain.
The Battle
of Trafalgar was the most important naval engagement of the Napoleonic
Wars, however the great victory was nearly overshadowed by national
mourning at the loss of Lord Nelson, killed at the height of the battle
on board his flagship HMS Victory.
To commemorate the bi-centenary of
the battle approaching in 2005, W. Britain has created this special
Trafalgar range capturing in stunning detail Nelson and his key officers
Vice-Admiral Villeneuve and the men of the Combined Fleet who faced
him.
