First Legion
While the backbone of the Imperial Roman Army was their heavily armored Infantry Legions, the Romans also recognized the need for a professional mounted arm as well. Formed of regiments of non-Citizen Auxiliaries recruited from the provinces, these cavalry were professional soldiers paid by the Roman state.
First Legion has presented 8 different figures of the Ala II Flavia, heavily armored in mail and armed with spears, javelins and swords. These figures make a wonderful addition to any Roman toy soldier collection and stand side by side with the Imperial Roman Infantry ready to do battle wherever duty may call!
