On June 28, 1944, Capt. Arthur Fiedler Jr. — flying a mission over Polesti, Rumania, in his P-51 Mustang — encountered an unidentified Bf 109. Giving chase and connecting on a few hits, Fiedler's guns unexpectedly jammed, and, as he rolled out of his bank, he found himself parallel with the enemy warbird. Low on fuel and unwilling to make himself a target, he instinctively pulled his service revolver and aimed it at the Luftwaffe pilot who in turn jettisoned his canopy and bailed out.
This limited edition print pays tribute to the cunning exhibited by Fiedler on that fateful day, and is signed and numbered by the artist!
Print measures 16.5" wide x 11" tall.
