By 1942 the German Army had developed more suitable, specialized clothing for winter operations. Prior to this, individual soldiers were not clothed much differently than their counterparts over 100 years earlier. As a result, those involved in operations on the Eastern Front suffered as much as Napoleon's Grand Army on their fateful winter march!
These new figures feature both the traditional long wool overcoats and the more modern reversible parkas worn from 1942 to the end of the war.
