First Legion
Finally the addition of the British 17th Lancers for our Anglo-Zulu War series!
One of the most famous regiments of Cavalry in the history of the British Army, the 17th Lancers (Duke of Cambridge's Own) took part in a variety of engagements including both the Crimean War and the Anglo-Zulu War, particularly famous for the charge of the light brigade at the Battle of Balaclava in 1854. They served in the Natal colony and fought at the Battle of Ulundi in 1879 where they left the square they were sheltering in as the Zulu army was faltering and their charge routed the Zulus from the field.
Though wthey have been created for the AZW figure series, these flexible figures can be used in a variety of theaters in which the unit served including the Crimea, India, and of course Africa.
