One of the few frontline aircraft of World War II made almost entirely of wood, the de Havilland Mosquito — known as "Mossie" to its pilots — was a fast, multipurpose warbird that served numerous roles including fighter, bomber, and reconnaissance aircraft. One of the first units to be equipped with the Mosquito was the RAF No. 105, which, in September of 1942, executed a daring mission targeting Gestapo Headquarters in Oslo, Norway. This limited edition print depicts Squadron Leader George Parry and the two surviving Mosquitos — one was lost during the sortie, crash-landing in a lake after being hit by an Fw 190 — as they return to base at the completion of their successful mission.
Limited edition print is signed and numbered by the artist, Stan Stokes.
Print measures 16.5" wide x 11" tall.
