KUR002
First Legion
Not yet released - expected in late November/early December.
The German Panzer III N played a limited but notable role in the Battle of Kursk in 1943. The Panzer III series, particularly the Panzer III N, was part of the earlier German tank fleet used during the battle, although it had been largely outclassed by more advanced Soviet tanks like the T-34 and KV-1. The Panzer III N was a late-war modification of the Panzer III, equipped with a short-barreled 75mm gun (KwK 37), which was more effective against infantry and soft targets rather than heavily armored enemy tanks.
During the Battle of Kursk, the Panzer III N was primarily used in support roles, engaging infantry, artillery, and lighter Soviet vehicles. Its limited armor and firepower made it less effective in direct tank-to-tank combat, especially in the face of the Soviet armored forces. The German offensive during the battle was hampered by the overwhelming numbers and quality of Soviet forces, and the Panzer III N's impact was overshadowed by more advanced tanks like the Panther and Tiger. This version has full side and turret skirts for upgraded armor protection that are fully configurable for a variety of display options.
The model is made from a mixed media (resin, metal, plastic, brass, photo etch, etc...) and has the following features:
- Opening & Closing Commanders Hatch
- Fully Rotating Turret
- Gun Barrel Raises and Lowers
- Antenna Raises/Lowered
- Optional AAMG Display (NOTE THAT THIS IS AN EXTRA/OPTIONAL PART INCLUDED THAT WE WILL NOT SUPPORT)
- Full Hull and Turret Steel Shurtzen Skirts that are fully configurable - use some or all, your choice!
- Extremely realistic weathering and superb sculpting and painting
